The Montgomery County website has a new portal where the county’s federal workers and contractors affected by the government shutdown can find information about assistance available to them. New Lyttonsville Place Bridge Now Open

New Lyttonsville Place Bridge

The rebuilt Lyttonsville Place Bridge between Lyttonsville and Brookville roads has been opened by the Purple Line Transit Partners. For the time being, the span will carry one lane of traffic in each direction, along with an area for pedestrians. County Receives Second Federal Grant for Electric Busses

The county’s Department of Transportation has received a second grant from the Federal Transit Administration to replace diesel busses with 10 new electric busses. Residents in the area near the construction of the Plymouth Street tunnel from Wayne Avenue to Arliss Street can expect blasting to begin next week, according to a notice from the Purple Line Transit Partners.
