Takoma Park Offers Grants to Help Businesses Affected by COVID-19 Emergency

The City of Takoma Park is accepting applications for emergency grants to local small businesses affected by the COVID-19 emergency.

The Citywide Small Business Mini-Grant Program has been established to provide grants of up to $3,000.

Any small business within the city limits is eligible to apply. However, the announcement notes that preference will be give to businesses located outside the Old Town Business District in the Laurel/Carroll Avenue area.

Those businesses are eligible for assistance from a separate fund established by the Old Takoma Business Association.

The funds can be used for business operations, personal emergencies, inventory, salaries to employees, and similar uses.

The city is accepting online applications on a rolling basis until the deadline of Friday, April 3. The awards will be announced the following Friday, April 10 following a review by city staff-led review committee.
