Korean fusion restaurant Seoul Food D.C. has opened in its new location at 7302 Carroll Ave. in Takoma Park, according to an announcement from the Old Takoma Business Association.
Owner Anna and Jon Goree announced in November that they would l move from their location in a Wheaton gas station, where they had operated since June 2013, to the new space.
The restaurant got its start in 2011 as a pink food truck operating in Washington, D.C. and Arlington. The pink door at its new location is a reminder of those roots.
In addition to familiar Korean dishes such as bibimbap, the menu includes rice bowls and bulgogi beef or pork.
Other choices include specialties such as a KoReuben (steak, shiitake mushrooms, housemade sauerkraut, provolone cheese, pepper relish, sriracha mayo) and a bulgogi hoagie (choice of protein, apple slaw, cucumber kimchi, provolone cheese, pepper relish, mayo, salsa roja), along with burritos and quesadillas made with traditional Korean ingredients, and other selections.
Many of the dishes are vegetarian, vegan and/or gluten free.
The location also offers beer and wine, unlike the Wheaton restaurant.
Seoul Food D.C. is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. It is closed on Sunday and Monday.
