Dolce Gelati, formerly located at 7000 Carroll Ave., will move into space formerly used for private parties at Roscoe’s Neapolitan Pizzeria, located at 7040 Carroll Ave., according to an announcement from the Old Takoma Business Association.

The gelateria will have its own entrance and will include a gelato counter with seating, along with tables and chairs. It is expected to open later this month.

Dolci Gelati’s chef and president, Gianluigi Dellaccio, recently named a global “gelato ambassador” for the United States, is overseeing the project and plans to offer 12 flavors of gelato at the shop along with vegan options, including vegan gelato and a variety of sorbets.

The shop will also carry desserts such as tiramisu and chocolate mousse.

The gelateria vacated its former space in February to allow for the expansion of Trattoria da Lina.

Roscoe’s will remain open during the construction.
