The City of Takoma Park is seeking entries of short original poems by local residents to be stamped on sidewalks in a new public art project. In addition to having their entry stamped into a local sidewalk, winners will also receive a $100 award, according to a press release.
Contest entrants, which must be current Takoma Park residents, may submit up to two poems in English or Spanish, however, Spanish poems must include English translation. A selection committee will choose the winners, and the poems will be stamped on sidewalks at the City’s discretion when staff time and funding allow.
For more information and to enter, visit the Sidewalk Poetry Contest Entry Form. Entries must be received by February 28th.
