Angel Gregorio, owner of The Spice Suite in Old Takoma, has been featured in Bon Appetit Magazine’s upcoming March/April issue.
Bon Appetit’s article, “Here Are Thirteen Ways Ways to Turn Your Love of Food Into A Career, From Women Who’ve Made It Work”, features several women who have turned their love of food into their life’s work.
“What’s humbling is that it wasn’t about spices, it was me giving business advice for folks who want to turn their love of food into a career,” Ms. Gregorio said in a post on The Spice Suite’s Instagram account. “To be trusted by such a renowned publication to give business advice still feels surreal.”
“We are thrilled to see Angel’s hard-earned success,” said Main Street Takoma’s Laura Barclay in a statement to the Source. “The business that she has built and the strategic decisions that she made during the pandemic are a model for other small businesses.”
Ms. Gregorio was also featured in Travel & Leisure Magazine last July: “I live by the motto ‘Food is fashion.’ I love taking risks in fashion. I will wear a sequin gown and Air Max 1s to the farmer’s market. I’m the same way at home in the kitchen. I mix and match things and experiment until it feels good. The only advice is to unlearn that there are poultry blends, steak blends, etc. There are spices and there is food. Mix them, no rules!”
