The Takoma Park Police Department is investigating two cases of commercial destruction of property that occurred early this morning (March 16), according to a community advisory.
The first case involved Republic at 6939 Laurel Ave. The second was at Takoma Bev Co., 6917 Laurel Ave.
In both cases, an unknown suspect (or suspects) broke the glass on the front door; the action set off a commercial alarm at Republic.
Police found no evidence of anyone entering either restaurant.
