Takoma Park Police File Additional Charges Against Suspect in Last Week’s Killings

The Takoma Park Police Department have filed additional charges against the off-duty Pentagon police officer accused in the killing of two men last week, according to a new press release.

David Hall Dixon has been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and use of a firearm in a felony or violent crime for his involvement in assaulting a female on May 6, 2020 at the Takoma Overlook Condominiums at 7333 New Hampshire Ave. in Takoma Park.

TPPD originally investigated the incident after reports of a female blocking access to the building’s lobby, swinging a stick. At the time, Dixon said he was hit by the woman and in return, used pepper spray on her, whereupon she left.

However, on Friday, April 9, the department learned of a video that showed Dixon threatening the woman with a long gun, which was not mentioned by either party at the time.

“After viewing the video, Takoma Park Police Detectives filed charges of First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, and Use of a Firearm in a Felony or Violent Crime against David Hall Dixon of Takoma Park for his involvement in assaulting the involved female. Takoma Park Detectives also initiated a search warrant this morning [April 10] and recovered evidence in the case,” a separate release said.

The department also asks that anyone who ahs evidence concerning the May incident, or any other in which Dixon acted in a threatening manner, to contact the department at 301.270.1100. TPPD accepts anonymous tips.
