Takoma Park Police say they arrested a 25-year-old male from Silver Spring for possession of a handgun on a prohibited person and other charges.
“Chief Antonio DeVaul from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of Malik Joel Anthon, 25, of Silver Spring, Maryland, for possession of a handgun on a prohibited person; other charges,” reads a news release.
“On December 14, 2021, officers conducted a traffic stop in the unit block of Darwin Avenue. Through investigation, the driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm, for which he is prohibited.
“Anthon was charged accordingly and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit without incident.”
