Black Box Botanical will hold its grand opening in Takoma D.C. this Saturday, Feb. 12, from 2–5 p.m. with a pop-up Valentine’s floral bar hosted by Floral Pop Co., according to an announcement from Main Street Takoma.
The new business is a curated houseplant and lifestyle shop opening at 7059 Blair Rd., Suite 100 in Takoma, D.C.
“The shop carries a variety of low-maintenance tropical houseplants, home goods, books and accessories sourced from District-based, minority-owned businesses,” according to the announcement.
The shop also will host adult art classes, monthly “plant parenting” courses and wellness courses, and will offer commercial and residential interior plant design to help insure the tropical plants thrive in their environment.
Black Box Botanical also has created an urban garden program, providing container gardens throughout Wards 7 and 8 to provide access to self-grown produce.
