The Takoma Park Farmers Market will kick off its 39th season on Sunday, April 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., according to an announcement from Main Street Takoma.
“The Takoma Park Farmers Market kicks off its 39th season in Takoma Park on Sunday, April 17th, 2022 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm,” reads an email from Laura Barclay of Main Street Takoma. “On this day, summer vendors return to join year-round vendors with fresh local food all produced within 125 miles of Takoma Park. Shoppers will find seasonal produce, pasture raised meats and eggs, small batch cheeses, milk, butter, baked goods and bread, fermented foods, honey, grains, flour and rice, mushrooms, prepared foods, flower bouquets, plants for the garden and more!
“Every Sunday, there are 25 full-time vendors, including new vendor Metro Microgreens. Each week there is also a rotating line up of pop up vendors including distilleries, apiaries, oyster nurseries and more. Special wild ramps pop up on Sundays, April 10, 17, and 24th. Customers may grab breakfast or lunch at the market with freshly made empanadas from Stone Hearth Bread Co, baked goods from Atwaters, or made-to-order breakfast sandwiches and burgers from Grassfed Griddle. Seating is available next to the market on the Takoma Streetery on Laurel Avenue.”
Federal SNAP benefits are accepted, and the market currently offers up to $20 in matching dollars thanks to Maryland Market Money.
Additionally, the market is participating in Visit Montgomery’s annual MoCo Eats week on Sunday, April 24th; shoppers can stop by the information booth for a free Takoma Park Farmers Market reusable shopping bag.
