Takoma Park Police are asking the public for any information regarding a suspect in connection with an armed robbery and burglary that occurred Thursday morning in the 700 block of Devonshire Road.
“On June 23, at approximately 10:19 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 700 block of Devonshire Road for the report of an armed robbery and burglary,” police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said in a news release. “The victim was a worker in the home when the suspect entered through an unsecured open front door and pointed a gun at him. He demanded all property that the victim had on him; the victim complied. The suspect then demanded the victim go to the basement to which he complied. After a few minutes and not hearing the suspect any longer, the victim went back up the stairs and saw the suspect fleeing on foot towards New Hampshire Avenue. The victim was not seriously physically injured during the armed robbery. Takoma Park Police canvassed the area with negative results. Lookout information was provided to all surrounding jurisdictions.”
Plevy said that the suspect is described as a Black male, dark-skinned, approximately mid-20s to early 30s, approximately 6′ tall, medium build, last seen wearing a red jacket, long khaki-colored pants, white surgical-style face mask, armed with a black handgun.
