Police Investigating Armed Robbery in Takoma Park

Takoma Park Police are asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in an armed robbery that occurred Sunday evening near the intersection of Hammond Avenue and Anne Street.

“On September 5, at approximately 9:53 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the intersection of Hammond Avenue and Anne Street for the report of an armed robbery,” police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said in a news release. “The victim was walking towards University Boulevard on Anne Street when he was approached by two male suspects who pushed him to the ground and demanded property. The victim observed both suspects pointing handguns at him and ordering him not to look at them. The victim complied and gave the suspects his property. The two suspects fled south westbound on Anne Street to a waiting black 4-door sedan (unknown tags) that fled north westbound on Kennewick Avenue toward Lockney Avenue.”

Plevy said that the suspects are described as two males of unknown race, both last seen wearing white hooded sweatshirts, black masks, and blue jeans, and both armed with handguns.

Investigators are asking that anyone with information about this incident, or who knows the identities of the suspects, contact the Takoma Park Police Department at (301) 270-1100 and refer to case #220038536.
