The Piney Branch Public Pool will reopen after 30 months of being closed due to the pandemic, according to an email from Ken Flemmer of Adventist Community Services of Greater Washington.
The organization manages the 25-meter, six-lane pool in conjunction with the county’s Recreation Department.
Swimmers will be welcomed back on Monday, Oct. 17. The pool hours will be Monday to Thursday morning, 6:30–9 a.m. and afternoons from 4–8 p.m. The pool also will be open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The pool, which features lanes at a depth of 3.5 to 10.5 meters, plus two slides and backstroke flags, is open to recreational swimmers, for swim lessons, seniors, scuba lessons, kayak clubs, water fitness and high school swim teams.
The Piney Branch pool is located inside Piney Branch Elementary School at 7510 Maple Ave., with an entrance on the side at Grant Avenue.
Full details of the schedule of activities and fees is available online.
