Takoma Park Police Arrest Suspect in Strong-Arm Robbery

Takoma Park police have arrested a suspect in a strong-arm robbery that took place last week, Chief Antonio DeVaul announced in a community advisory email.

Anthony Moore, 20, of no fixed address, was arrested for strong-arm robbery, resisting arrest, failure to obey and disorderly conduct.

“On November 21, at approximately 8:30 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 900 block of Merrimac Drive (7-11) for the report of a strong-arm robbery,” the advisory reads.

Moore grabbed the wallet of a victim who was at the cash register paying for items and fled the store. He was seen in the 6100 block of Carroll Avenue and reported by witnesses.

“An officer located Moore, and after a brief foot chase and struggle, Moore was taken into custody,” the advisory continues. “The stolen wallet was recovered and returned to the victim.”

After his arrest, Moore was taken to the county’s Central Processing Unit.
