Suspects Sought in Attempted Armed Carjacking

The Takoma Park Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects in an attempted armed carjacking that occurred Tuesday afternoon at the Falcon Fuel gas station in the 900 block of University Boulevard East.

The victim reported that at approximately 2:50 p.m. Tuesday while pumping gasoline and cleaning his vehicle, two unknown males approached him with a black handgun and demanded his car keys, police spokesperson Cathy Plevy stated in an emailed community advisory. The victim fled into the gas station convenience store with his car keys. One of the suspects attempted to start the victim’s vehicle without the keys but was unsuccessful. Two suspects fled the area in a white Nissan sedan on University Blvd. toward New Hampshire Ave.

Surveillance footage was obtained at the scene.

Plevy said that the two suspects are described as: (1) a Black male, last seen wearing a Nike ski mask, black sweater, black pants, and black shoes with white soles; and (2) a Black male, last seen wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.
