Number of Complaints Filed Against Takoma Park PD Remained Static in 2022

The number of complaints filed against Takoma Park police or department employees remained static in calendar 2022, according to a community advisory.

“Six complaints were recorded in 2022 with four subjected to internal investigations and two subjected to administrative review,” compared to six in 2021 and 13 in 2020, the department said.

Two of the complaints came from community members while an employee, the police chief or a member of command staff originated the other four.

The department issued one written reprimand and one written performance counseling involving a civilian employee. Three complaints were determined to be unfounded, and one is pending.
