Police in Takoma Park are investigating after a woman was assaulted by someone she met through a dating app.
Officers responded to the 7700 block of Maple Ave. at approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to an emailed community advisory from police spokesperson Ron Hardy. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman had been cut on her leg and sexually assaulted. According to the woman, she met her attacker through a dating app.
Hardy said the suspect fled before the police arrived, and the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police have identified a suspect but have not yet provided a name or description. An arrest warrant has been issued for the unnamed suspect, Hardy said.
