Planet Fitness recently opened at 6881 New Hampshire Ave. in Takoma Park, and the Wheaton location is scheduled to open at 2201 Randolph Rd. on December 20, as reported by The MoCo Show.

According to a press release, both Planet Fitness locations provide modern cardio machines, strength equipment, a 30-minute Express Circuit, complete locker rooms, and several flat-screen televisions. They will also have a PF Black Card Spa area with HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, tanning, a RelaxSpace Wellness Pod (where members can relax, reset, and focus on their mental health for up to 15 minutes), and a Recovery Lounge offering hot, cold, and compression therapy.

Memberships, which start at $10/month for the Classic Card, include free fitness training led by a certified fitness trainer through the pe@pf program. During a special pre-sale period, the PF Black Card membership will be discounted to $19.99/month. It includes the ability to bring a guest every day at no additional charge, access to all 2,400+ Planet Fitness locations in all 50 states, and access to HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, and tanning, among other benefits.

“We heard the community demand and are thrilled to increase our presence in Montgomery County,” said C. Victor Brick, co-owner of Ohana Growth Partners. “We’ve experienced an outstanding response from the other clubs in the area and look forward to introducing two more Judgement Free facilities, where members can work out to improve their physical and mental health in a non-intimidating environment.”

The area is home to more than 20 Planet Fitness gyms, with one opening in downtown Silver Spring in 2017. Ohana Growth Partners, headquartered in Timonium, owns and operates 75 Planet Fitness health clubs in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Tennessee, Florida, Washington, and California, according to its LinkedIn page.
