Takoma Park Police say that 62-year-old Dawn A. Rolen was arrested for an alleged shoplifting incident at the Discount Mart on Sunday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said that officers responded to a call around 4:03 p.m. Sunday regarding an active shoplifting situation at the Discount Mart located in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Ave. When store employees approached the suspect, she reportedly caused damage to store property. Upon arrival, the officers encountered Rolen, who displayed combative behavior toward law enforcement personnel. Despite her resistance, the officers managed to take Rolen into custody without incident.
Rolen was subsequently arrested, charged accordingly, and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, Plevy said.
