Takoma Park Police are again asking for help identifying the suspect responsible for the fatal shooting of a mobile mechanic at Advance Auto Parts.
On July 16, 2022, at approximately 11:05 a.m., an unknown assailant shot Nurhusen Hamid while he was working as a mobile mechanic in the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts on New Hampshire Avenue.
The suspect fled the scene on foot, entered a white SUV, and drove away on Eastern Avenue toward the District of Columbia via New Hampshire Avenue.
Hamid later succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital, according to Takoma Park Police spokesperson Cathy Plevy, who described the shooting suspect as a Black male wearing a white t-shirt, a dark baseball cap, and jeans.

A cash reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and indictment. Anyone with information about the shooting or any potential security camera footage is asked to contact Takoma Park Police Lieutenant Joseph Butler at (301) 891-7111.
