Takoma Park soon will have a vegan donut shop, according to an announcement from the Old Takoma Business Association.
Co-owners Nicole Dao and Shawn Petersen have signed a lease at 6904 4th St. N.W., which formerly housed Vegaritos.
“We’ve been doing pop-ups for the part two years now,” said Dao in an email to the Source. This will be their first storefront location.
“All our donuts are actually vegan,” she added. “And we are working on gluten-free options as we speak. We also plan on offering breakfast sandwiches and coffee.”
Vegaritos was put up for sale in February and later closed.
Donut Run plans to open in the spring of 2019. The company can be found on Instagram @donutrundc.
