Takoma Park, Silver Spring outlets mark FeBREWary this week

Local events marking FeBREWary, a celebration of craft brewers, begin tonight with the Takoma Tap Takeover from Main Street Takoma.

Each night from 6 p.m. to closing (unless otherwise noted), different outlets will feature brews from local craft brewers. The schedule, with specials listed where available, includes:

In addition, patrons can get 5 percent off six packs of Port City Brewing Company, UNION Craft Brewing, DC Brau Brewing Company and 7 Locks Brewing from Feb. 20-24 at the TPSS Co-op, located at 201 Ethan Allen Ave.

On Saturday, Denizens Brewing Co. at 1115 East-West Highway will host its Winter Cask Classic. This includes a cask takeover along with some hockey-themed games, accompanied by beats from DJ Kenny M in the lower taproom, along with a shoot-out competition outside.

The brewery will be pouring Denizens casks, as well as casks from Atlas Brew Works, Bluejacket, The Brewer’s Art, DC Brau Brewing Company, District ChopHouse & Brewery, Oliver Brewing Company, Pub Dog – Columbia, Manor Hill Brewing, and UNION Craft Brewing.

Tickets are $35 and include a souvenir glass plus unlimited pours. This event is for 21 and over only.

FeBREWary is Maryland’s official month-long celebration, in conjunction with the Brewers Association of Maryland, of craft beer lovers, with craft brew events held across the state. This is the third year for the event.
