One of the partners in Takoma Park’s Dolci Gelati Café is planning to open an Italian restaurant on the same block, according to a press release from Main Street Takoma.
Marcello Minna, who has 20 years of experience in the restaurant business, will open Trattoria da Lina at 7000 Carroll Ave. in a former office space early next year.
“I’m still working on [the menu],” Minna said. “Mainly, it’s going to be pasta, probably 50 percent of the menu.”
“The chef is Italian and he is going to be my partner,” he said, “and I am going to be general manager.”
Minna wants to provide Takoma Park residents with dining options currently not available, he said.
The restaurant, the décor of which is described as “rustic and cosy,” will have a full liquor license.
